It's about time.
The actors got hitched in a small chapel in a private ceremony attended by family and friends.
My invitation must have been lost in the mail.
E! reports it was a nondenominational civil ceremony, performed by the same California judge from whom they obtained their marriage license. All six of their children -- Maddox, 13; Pax, 11; Zahara, 9; Shiloh, 8; and twins Knox and Viviennne, 6 -- reportedly participated in their parents' wedding.
Jolie was escorted down the aisle by her elder sons, while Zahara and Vivienne threw flower petals. Shiloh and Knox were ring bearers.
As you know -- don't you? -- Pitt, 50, proposed to Jolie, 39, in 2012, with a ring he designed with Robert Procop. I have no idea who that is, but he sounds impressive.
The couple has said over the past couple years they were being urged by their kids to make it official. "We're getting a lot of pressure from the kids," Pitt told E! News in 2002. "We didn't realize how much it meant to them and then, in getting engaged, how much it also means to us."
Now might not be the worst time to call Vegas and put some money on Jennifer Aniston getting married before the week is over.
While promoting "Maleficent" in May, Jolie told USA Today she didn't even "have a dress." The same month, she told "Good Morning America" that, "We talk to the kids about it once in a while ... And one of them suggested paintball. And we thought, 'Well, different.' So who knows? You know, I think the important thing is that whatever we do, it's that the kids do have a great time, and we all ... take seriously the love, and the connection between all of us. But also just get silly and do something memorable."
This is the second marriage (not including George Clooney, which was never technically legal) for Pitt, whose marriage to Jennifer Aniston ended in 2005 when he started hanging around his new wife. Jolie has been married to Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton.
The pair are set to make their first movie together since 2005's "Mr. and Mrs. Smith." Next month, they begin shooting the Jolie-directed "By the Sea." The couple will play a married couple and share "crazy sex scenes," according to Us Weekly.
