Sunny Leone: Karenjit Kaur Vohra, better known as Sunny Leone, has acted in ‘Ragini MMS 2’ which made very decent profits and ‘Jackpot,’ a super flop. But the real thing going for her is that certain sections of the industry want to sign her badly. Porn film background, hence sex scenes: the logic is simple. So surfers chase her, madly. Good for her. She is attracting all the eyeballs.

Poonam Pandey: Pray, what has she done except post nude pics and lewd tweets on twitter where countless people have turned into her devotees? She acted in a film called ‘Nasha’, promised to strip if India won the 2011 World Cup (she eventually didn’t) and turned into one of the most searched actor celebs on the net. Interesting, no?

Sherlyn Chopra: If she is the only star, millions have turned into star gazers. ‘Red Swastik’ was her claim to fame – God knows how, since few watched it – and ‘Kamasutra 3D’ which the Indian audience has no idea about, another talking point of her career. Like Poonam, Sherlyn too has put twitter to great use, posting pics that has multiplied her number of followers. The only question is: when will this ever get translated into one okay performance on the silver screen?

Veena Malik: This Pakistani actor burst into the Indian public’s consciousness after her appearance in Bigg Boss’s fourth season in 2010. The hardly subtle hints at her affair with co-participant Ashmit Patel accompanied by visual support catapulted her to some sort of fame. Although she has done a fair amount of work in Pakistan, her only film some Indians would have heard of ‘Zindagi 50-50.’ So, from where has she managed to get so much attention? Your guess is as good as ours.

Mallika Sherawat: Mallika? Even now? You bet. Just check the net. Frankly, while it is her sex appeal – and the ability to flaunt without inhibitions – that has got her such a devoted following, she has some work and delivered hits too. ‘Khwahish’ was bad but a hit nonetheless. She was the reason why ‘Murder’ worked, while ‘Pyar Ke Side Effects’ was actually a good film. For quite sometime, however, she has been hardly delivering. But millions of tongues continue to pop out at her sight. Not surprising. She was why a Sunny Leone managed to happen after a few years.

Celebrities' moment of trouble with Indian flag

Actress Mallika Sherawat is no stranger to controversy. And she has once again kicked up a storm by appearing in a tricolour in the poster of her new film "Dirty Politics". There are more stars who have had a controversial brush with the Indian flag.

In the poster, Mallika is seen wrapped in the tricolour and sitting atop a car with a beacon, and it hasn't gone down well with a political party from Rajasthan.

  

But she is not the first one to get into trouble.

Back in 2000, designer Malini Ramani also landed in trouble when she donned a flag dress. She showed her design skills by using horizontal strips of orange, white and green and a blue wheel - all similar to the Indian flag.

Unfortunately, it wasn't the creativity of the designer that became a topic of discussion, but the fact that she allegedly dishonoured the national flag, according to some.

A few years later, actress and host Mandira Bedi's attire came under fire when she chose to wear a flag-themed sari. While hosting one of the cricket matches, Mandira was seen wearing a sari that had national flags of all the countries, which participated in the tournament. There was an image of the tricolour that was apparently positioned in a disrespectful manner - below the knee. This angered many.

Tennis player Sania Mirza didn't dare to wear the tricolour, but she found herself in the flag controversy, thanks to smart photography.

Mirza was pictured sitting with her bare feet that appeared to rest on a table next to an Indian flag. As many saw this as an act of showing disrespect to the Indian flag, she had even thought of giving up playing tennis to show her respect to the national flag.

Indian Express surfers vote Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as best dressed at Cannes 2014

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been voted best dress beauty by Indian Express surfers at Cannes 2014. 

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan emerged as the best-dressed Indian beauty at the 67th Cannes Film Festival, according to an online poll conducted by The Indian Express

Aishwarya Rai no doubt deserves every bit of the praise for her dazzling red carpet appearances – in a gold coloured Roberto Cavalli gown and the white embellished gown, also by Cavalli.  Aishwarya Rai got over 2,500 votes for her red carpet appearances at this year’s Cannes.

Coming in a close second was fashionista Sonam Kapoor, who also wowed us in her four looks – the black Elie Saab gown, the red flowy gown, also by Elie Saab, the ethnic look in Anamika Khanna and our favouite – lilac by Elie Saab. She got 21 per cent votes.

Indian export to Hollywood, Frieda Pinto came third, credit going to her gorgeous Oscar de la Renta gown and Mallika Sherawat got the least amount of votes.

Let’s hope she steps it up a bit next year at Cannes.

Paris Hilton insults Mallika Sherawat

Sexy Siren Malika Sherawat is in Cannes promoting her new movie Hisss directed by Jennifer Lynch. She is making a lot of news, either for being the best dressed or dancing with a snake on the red carpet, and is having a gala of a time, rubbing shoulders with the who's who of the entertainment industry. 

So the latest on the Sherawat front (no pun intended) is that, the actress was attending charity event called “Cinema against AIDS”, a non- profit organization dedicated to AIDS research. 

Apparently, Miss Sherawat was the only Indian actor present among the likes of Gerard Butler, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Rock star Mick Jagger and designers like Karl Lagerfeld and Roberto Cavalli.

So the tale goes like this, Mallika Sherawat paid a kings ransom to a photog to click her pictures, every time she rubbed shoulders with a famous name. 

Most of them turned down Mallika's “generous offer” while, Fashion maverick Roberto Cavalli was the only one who extended the courtesy towards her by graciously paying her a compliment and kissing her hand. 

Mallika, who looked ravishing in a Dolce and Gabbana gown, was not satisfied with just one photo opportunity, so she decided to move on to tabloids' favorite princess Paris Hilton, but the wild child was not in a mood to play nice, with the Indian version of herself. 

Paris looked aloof when Malika introduced her self, and briskly told her that she isn't familiar with her and walked away. If that wasn't enough, to add insult to the injury, during the party, Paris kept looking right through Malika.

That's sad, they would have become BFF's, and after all, they both are the same side of a coin. They would have also provided the media with a lot of fodder!!

After shinning at the Cannes film festival with her improved sense of style, the latest on Mallika Sherawat is her forthcoming romantic comedy ‘Love Barack’, also titled as ‘Politics of Love’. 

A clip from the film where Mallika is seen indulging in a sexy car wash has become highly popular on You Tube these days. 

The film is a political comedy starring 'Avatar' star Laz Alonso opposite Mallika. The actress will play the role of Aretha Gupta, a devoted, volunteer coordinator on Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign, who falls in love with her counterpart on John McCain's campaign, played by Alonso. 

The film seems interesting as of now!

With the Cannes Film Festival on in full swing, can Bollywood's very own export to Hollywood Madame Mallika Sherawat be far away from all the action? Mallika, who's seen more at international events these days, made her presence felt in a rather sensational way at the Cannes Film Festival.

In what can be termed as a novel way to promote her upcoming film Hissss, Mallika made heads turn as she did a special photo-shoot with a live snake. Mallika shared this information with her millions of fans on popular social networking site Twitter. Said the actress, "And now for a very special and private photo shoot in Cannes with my date, Rudy the Sssnake:)" For Mallika there could have been no better way to promote the film as she plays a snake woman in the film. The paparazzi surely went crazy as Madame Sherawat posed and pouted rather comfortably with the creepy looking creature.

While Hissss directed by Jennifer Lynch is all slated to release this August, Mallika making sure that the promotions for this film are nothing short of 'Hissstoric'.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Mallika Sherawat hit headlines at Cannes

Actors Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Mallika Sherawat certainly seem to be having a great time in Cannes. Aishwarya was personally invited by Oscar-winning film-maker Martin Scorsese to join him in an exclusive dinner. Sources say Ash and Martin spoke about Indian movies.

The media and critics seem to have coined a new name for Ash in France — the Princess of Cannes. However, the most important news emerging is that Ash, who wore Elie Saab, Armani Prive and then Gucci so far in Cannes, will sport an Indian wear for the premiere of her movie Raavan.

“This time since the Raavan red carpet is also an occasion at the fest, she will be wearing an Indian outfit for that. She has personally planned what she is going to sport much before she left for the French fest,” says a source.

Meanwhile, Mallika cheered for film-maker Ashok Amritraj at an event honouring him for completing 100 movies. “Just left the Variety event honoring my friend Ashok Amritraj for making his 100th film. Congrats, Ashok!” she tweeted.

There is also good news for Mallika’s Indian fans as her Hollywood film Hisss is set to hit the screens. “Hisss being released India Independence Day!!” she confirmed on Twitter.

Mallika also bumped into veteran designer Valentino who asked her to be his muse for his forthcoming collection. The actor too is very willing.
