PK team plans to hold special screening for Sanjay Dutt

The crew of upcoming film 'PK' is planning a special screening for the film's pivotal actor Sanjay Dutt, who is currently in the Yerwada jail. Aamir Khan along with film's director RajKumar Hirani and female lead Anushka Sharma unveiled the film's first trailer last evening here.

Asked if the team is holding any special screening for Dutt, Aamir said, "We are planning to write a letter to the authority if we can screen the film for Sanjay Dutt and all the people there. So he can watch the film." Dutt, 55, shot for his portions in the comedy-drama before going to the jail last year to serve his remaining term in the 1993 bomb blast case.

In the third motion poster of 'PK', which was released last month, Dutt was introduced in a bandmaster avatar, while Aamir sported an ill-fitted khakhi uniform.

Don't know if I can pull off 'Bigg Boss' like Salman Khan, confesses Ajay Devgn

Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn says he is unsure that, given a chance, he will be able to host reality show Bigg Boss as skillfully as his fellow actor Salman Khan did.

Rumours are rife that Salman, who successfully hosted four consecutive seasons of the reality show, may not be available for the eighth season of Bigg Boss.

When asked whether he would accept if given the opportunity to host Bigg Boss, Ajay said, "I really don't know. I cannot comment on that - may be I will or may be not. I am not sure."

"Salman does it so well... he is watchable. I don't know if I can pull it off like Salman. I have not seen all the episodes, but a little bit here and there," Ajay told IANS.

Salman and Ajay are contemporaries as well as friends. They have worked together in films like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and London Dreams.

"I don't believe that rivals cannot be friends. All of us are friends, most of us at least. Salman, Sanjay Dutt, and me are very close. Earlier, we used to meet on each other's sets. Now it's become more professional, but we have a great rapport. Whenever we need each other, we stand for each other," he added.

Sanjay Dutt seeks another month's parole extension

Sanjay Dutt asks for parole extension again
Bollyood Actor Sanjay Dutt, jailed in the 1993 bomb blasts case, has sought a second extension of his parole to be with his wife Manyata, who is recovering from a surgery, police said today.

The actor was granted a month's parole from Pune's Yerwada Jail from December 21 for the second time after he spent all of October at home in Mumbai on leave from prison.

He was supposed to return to jail on January 21 but he sought extension of his temporary release from jail by another month (till February 21) which was granted by authorities.

Now he has applied for another month-long extension, saying he wants to take care of his wife Manyata, who underwent surgery recently.

The actor wrote to Pune's Divisional Commissioner seeking extension of his parole. The Commissioner in turn has asked Mumbai's Khar police station (Dutt's residence comes under its jurisdiction) to carry out verification of the reason cited by the actor for pleading for further relief.

Accordingly, the Khar police will respond to the Pune Divisional Commissioner after carrying out verification process in a few days, sources said.

Manyata, reported to be suffering from multiple ailments of the heart and liver, was admitted to Global Hospital in Parel here in January.

The 53-year-old actor is serving the remaining 42 months of his sentence for illegal possession of arms in a case related to the 1993 serial blasts, in which over 250 people were killed and several hundred wounded.

In early 2013, the Supreme Court upheld his conviction and awarded five-year prison term. He has already served 18 months of his jail term.

The actor was shifted to Pune's Yerwada Central Jail in May last year, nearly a week after he surrendered before a Special Court here.

In the past, Dutt faced several protests outside his home and jail for his parole requests.

After Sanjay Dutt, another 1993 Mumbai blasts convict gets parole

Close on the heels of release of actor Sanjay Dutt on parole to take care of his ailing wife, a similar relief has been extended to another 1993 bomb blast accused on the same ground.

The Divisional Commissioner, Pune, has ordered the release of Mujib Parkar on parole for a month to attend to his wife, the Government informed the Bombay High Court yesterday.

Parkar, lodged in Kolhapur prison, has moved the court earlier seeking parole as the Pune Divisional Commissioner and later the Under Secretary of the Home Department had rejected his plea on the ground that police had opposed his release.

However, the court asked the Divisional Commissioner of Pune to reconsider decision on Parkar's plea for parole.

Dutt is serving his sentence at Yerawada Central Jail in Pune.
His lawyer, advocate Farhana Shah, argued that Parkar, sentenced to five years' term by TADA court, had already served about half of it. His wife was suffering from appendicitis and had been advised surgery, she said.

Advocate Shah also pointed out that Parkar was earlier released on parole once, and he did not abuse the liberty. Nor did he breach any of the conditions imposed by the trial court when he was on bail for 16 years, she pointed out.

The Court disposed of Parkar's petition, saying it did not survive because parole had been granted to the convict.

In another development, Zebunisa Kazi, who was also convicted along with Dutt and Parkar in the same case, has also filed a petition in the High Court seeking parole.

Dutt is serving his sentence at Yerawada Central Jail in Pune.
Dutt is serving his sentence at Yerawada Central Jail in Pune.Kazi, aged 70, is serving a five-year term in Yerwada prison of Pune. She was denied parole in October 2013. Kazi then filed an appeal before the Home Ministry in November. As the appeal is still pending, she moved the High Court seeking an early decision.

Kazi has pleaded that her 90-year-old mother was not well and bed-ridden and she needed to take care of her. Her petition will be heard by a bench headed by Justice Naresh Patil on January 13.

Kazi was convicted by a TADA court in the 1993 bomb blast case, for possessing arms and ammunition.

Dutt, who is undergoing the remainder of his five-year jail term at Yerawada Central Jail in Pune in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case, is currently out on a 30-day parole.

Speeding with Munnabhai!

A quick update on what the stars are saying in 140 characters.
Sanjay Dutt is the new man in Twitter world. And you can make out that this one is seriously a must read for the guys. Six out of his 12 tweets posted so far speak of his Audi, driving and speed!
My favourite is when he tweets about his wife Manyaata fuming, "woke up with a fuming call from my wife, for driving at high speed. Just realised I miscalculated 50/60 mph into some wrong kmph. I know that she knows that i am very bad with calculations. Hope she cools down before I reach home. Yes my car is imported from abroad and shows mph. Since in India it is kmph, I tried the conversion and made a wrong calculation. On second thought driving at that crazy speed specially on mumbai roads can only be a man's dream."
For those who are keen to know what's up Dutt's sleeve, his tweets indicate he is working on a home production with David Dhawan and pre-production is on.
Here's sending this Munnabhai our Jaadu ki Jhappi and tons of luck!
