Salman Khan's 'Kick' box office collections break Shah Rukh Khan stranglehold on all-time No 3 spot

That there is still some power left in Salman Khan's 'Kick' box office collections is clear from the fact that there is a steady flow of money over the third week too.

That there is still some power left in Salman Khan's 'Kick' box office collections is clear from the fact that there is a steady flow of money over the third week too.

Salman Khan's 'Kick' box office collections have achieved yet another milestone!
Sajid Nadiadwala's directorial debut film, which has become box office collections highest grosser of 2014, has now beaten Shah Rukh Khan-starrer 'Chennai Express' (Rs 227.13 crore) record to become the third highest grosser of all time.

Interestingly, 'Chennai Express' recorded a stunning Rs 100.42 crore opening weekend as compared to Kick's earning of Rs 83.73 crore. But subsequent weeks and weekends saw 'Kick' taking the lead over the business of the SRK movie.
That there is still some power left in Salman Khan's 'Kick' box office collections is clear from the fact that there is a steady flow of money over the third week too.
The Salman Khan-starrer collected Rs 1.35 crore on Tuesday and Rs 1.10 crore on Wednesday, capping its domestic collections at Rs 228.08 crore in 20 days. The film had generated Rs 164.09 crore in Week 1 and Rs 51.02 crore in Week 2. While 'Kick' entered the Rs 100 core club on Day 5, it reached the Rs 200 crore mark on the 11th day.
The collections for Week 3, pegged by trade analyst Taran Adarsh, stand at: Friday Rs 1.97 crore, Saturday Rs 2.94 crore, Sunday Rs 3.92 crore, Monday Rs 1.69 crore and Tuesday Rs 1.35 crore with a grand total of Rs 226.98 crore (India).
Adarsh has also declared the film as all-time blockbuster.

Some more records are likely to fall in the near future because of never-say-die performance of 'Kick'. As far as domestic market is concerned, 'Kick' will need to add Rs 16.85 crore more to its kitty to go ahead of Hrithik Roshan's 'Krrish 3' box office collections record and Rs 56.20 crore to challenge the biggest move of them all in Bollywood, Aamir Khan-starrer 'Dhoom 3' - the going will get tough on Friday with the Independence Day (August 15) release of Ajay Devgn's 'Singham Returns', but 'Kick' is still in the running for Bollywood box office pinnacle.
‘Kick’ is produced by the Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment banner. The film is a remake of Telugu film of the same name, with a screenplay adapted by Nadiadwala and Chetan Bhagat.
'Kick' is still performing good at multiplexes

Katrina Kaif: Happy That Everyone Is Waiting For Bang Bang

BANG BANG

Katrina Kaif may not be on any social media platform but the actress has been keeping track of the response to the Bang Bang teaser. In an email to the media, Katrina Kaif says,"It is truly an overwhelming response for our teaser and I'm very happy that everyone is waiting for Bang Bang as eagerly as all of us."

Meanwhile Hrithik Roshan has been personally thanking his fans and colleagues on Twitter expressing his joy over the feedback to the trailer.

The Bang Bang teaser has reportedly clocked 2.33 million views in just 24 hours, which is a record for any Bollywood film. Director Siddharth Anand reveals that while he is excited with the numbers, what is more heartening is that people have genuinely enjoyed the teaser.

"Apart from the numbers, which are astounding so say the least, it's the reactions which are numbing. Every crew member has worked in extreme conditions to present the visuals which are, to put it politely, blowing everyone's minds :) So well done team - the journey has just begun and what a beginning! Thank you audience!" says Siddharth Anand.

Bang Bang opens on October 02, 2014 and is expected to be one of the big openers of the year.

Hrithik Roshan to Salman Khan: Bollywood actors who are second choices

As Hrithik Roshan gears up to play the lead in Ashutosh Gowariker’s next, based on the Indus Valley civilisation (in a film called Mohenjo-Daro), not many know that Sushant Singh Rajput had been in talks for the same role.

But even as Hrithik takes over from Sushant, the latter, coincidentally, is set to star in Shekhar Kapur’s next – Paani – a futuristic project set in Mumbai – which was earlier supposed to feature Hrithik in the lead.

"Originally, Gowariker had offered the film to Hrithik. In between, when it seemed like the actor wouldn’t be able to take it up, he was in talks with Sushant," says an insider.

On being contacted, Gowariker says, "Hrithik has always been the first choice. Clearly, Mohenjo Daro was destined to be made with him, as three years later, we are ready to begin shoot."

Meanwhile, Sushant says (via a text response), "All I know is that I’m a part of Paani next, and wouldn’t like to comment on any other project."

However, this isn’t the only coincidence. Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor were in a similar situation last year. Ranveer was the first choice for Anurag Kashyap’s  Bombay Velvet; when he couldn’t take it up (due to date issues), Ranbir was signed. Again, after Ranbir opted out of Zoya Akhtar’s Dil Dhadakne Do, Ranveer replaced him.

Ranveer, on being contacted, says, "After the film is made, no one cares who it was offered to [first]. Such things become irrelevant very fast. For me, it has absolutely no significance. It didn’t matter to me what the history of the casting was."Did you know.

Dibakar Banerjee and Sushant Singh Rajput have announced their upcoming film Detective Byomkesh Bakshy. Browse through and checkout the men in Kolkata.

Aamir Khan turned down Darr (1993), which was later done by Shah Rukh Khan. Years later, SRK said no to Lagaan (2001) and 3 Idiots (2009), which were taken up by Aamir.
Salman Khan was offered Baazigar (1993) and later Chak De! India (2007). Both were taken up by Shah Rukh Khan.

Later, Shah Rukh Khan was offered Ek Tha Tiger (2012), which eventually starred Salman.

Rumours suggest that Katrina Kaif turned down Chennai Express (2013) and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013), both of which went to Deepika Padukone.

Again, Deepika Padukone was apparently the first choice for Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012) and Dhoom:3 (2013), which eventually featured Katrina.

Salman Khan absent from Kick's poster

Launching the poster of Salman Khan's films is never a simple affair. If the star invited fans to design the first look of his last film Jai Ho, fans took it upon themselves to do the artwork for his next one Kick. Such was the pressure by Salman's legion of fans that director Sajid Nadiadwala brought forward the date of poster's release to June 15.

And now, we get to see a sneak peek of Kick's poster. The edgy poster has a mask which will remind you of Hrithik Roshan's Krrish. Salman's face, always a huge draw for his fans, is absent from the poster.

This has led to buzz that Salman may play a superhero in this one. Given the fact that Salman manages superhero antics even when he plays an aam aadmi (Jai Ho), him as a superhero will be truly spectacular!

Reports have said that the film will have some great action scenes and an international team has been called in to work on them. Salman is micro-managing every detail of the film.

The film also stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Randeep Hooda. The film has been scripted by Chetan Bhagat.

Hrithik Roshan in Gowariker's 'Mohenjo Daro'

Hrithik Roshan in Gowariker's 'Mohenjo Daro'

After `Lagaan` and `Jodha-Akbar`, Ashutosh Gowariker is all set to present another period drama – `Mohenjo-Daro`. The good news is that he is bringing back Hrithik Roshan for the movie.

View image on Twitter

Hrithik, after his divorce with Sussanne Roshan, was facing a slump and for a long time speculations kept coming up about which movie he would sign after `Bang Bang`. He was shying away from the media, and even pulled out of Karan Johar`s `Shuddhi`.

But in his latest post on Twitter, the actor all but confirmed working with Ashutosh for the movie which is scheduled to go on floors in October this year. The film is apparently in its pre-production stage. It has not yet been confirmed who is going to be cast in the female lead.

Hrithik Roshan's Hollywood debut in works, meets Fast and Furious director

When Hrithik asked for a cigarette from Shah Rukh

Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan may not be best of buddies but that didn't stop them in indulging in some friendly banter.

So, he went upto SRK, who was puffing away in a corner, for a cigarette. Shah Rukh being the humurous person that he is gave what Hrithik asked for but with a funny comment.
"Yeh acting wali cigarette hai. After smoking this you will learn how to do this," said Shah Rukh, making his signature gesture of opening his arms wide open.

Hrithik was quick to respond in a similar way.  "Now that you have lent me a cigarette, you will be able to do this too," he said, breaking into the famous move from Ek Pal Ka Jeena from his film Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai.

Career Alternatives For Bollywood Actors

What if the Bollywood actors who are leading the industry with their talent and looks get a chance to opt for a career alternative? If given a chance, some Bollywood actors must quit acting and become something else.

For example, most of the celebrities like Akshay Kumar were not into acting since they became young. Akshay was a chef and luck changed everything and the robust man is now the Khiladi of Bollywood.

However, there are certain career alternatives that some Bollywood actors can pick up if they someday stop coming in films and need to focus on something else. For example, Salman Khan has been an inspiration to a lot of Bollywood actors who achieved six packs successfully under Sallu's guidance. So, if not acting, gym instructor is a good career option for Salman Khan. Similarly, Shilpa Shetty is another Bollywood celebrity who is known for her amazing figure. Even after pregnancy, she lost all her baby fat and is now back in shape like before. The actress has even launched her yoga DVDs to spread its awareness and keep people fit. So we feel that now the hot mamma can become a yoga instructor as she is best in staying fit! Here are some of the career alternatives for Bollywood actors.

Would like to do 'Shuddhi' if approached: Deepika

Deepika Padukone has denied reports that she was approached for Karan Johar's much-discussed project 'Shuddhi' but said she was willing to do the film if offered.

"I haven't been approached for the film yet. I don't know if they (makers) know what is happening with the film," Deepika said at an event.

"At the point when Hrithik was doing it I would have definitely be interested in doing it. Now that he is not doing it, I don't know what is happening with the project," she said.

The upcoming film under Karan Johar's home production is getting delayed over its casting.

Earlier Kareena Kapoor Khan and Hrithik Roshan were to star in the film but Hrithik's illness delayed the project, forcing the actor to opt out.

It is also not clear whether Kareena is still a part of the movie.

When asked if she would do the role if approached, Deepika replied in the affirmative.

"Yes I would do it, why not?... If Karan thinks I would do justice to it then I will do it. Though Hrithik is not doing the film, I would be okay to do the film with any other co-star. It all depends on what they plan to do with the project," she added.

The film will be directed by Karan Malhotra of 'Agneepath' fame.

Ranveer or Ranbir, who will replace Hrithik in Shuddhi?

When Hrithik Roshan was busy shooting for 'Bang Bang' and held back on alotting any dates for Karan Johar's 'Shuddhi' (to be directed by Karan Malhotra) opposite actress Kareena Kapoor, the film faced the first of its many reported delays.

This was soon followed with Kareena hinting , subtly, at dropping out from Shuddhi after sighting an issue with dates, and Hrithik not being available for the project.
Read: Hrithik- Kareena to reunite on screen after 10 years for Shuddhi

Soon came the announcement from none other than filmmaker Karan Johar who reportedly announced his plans of searching for a new leading lady, and not keeping Kareena waiting. Some reports even hinted that Deepika Padukone was the new replacement.
And finally came Hrithik's announcement that he's leaving the project. Was it that he needed time to recover from his brain surgery, or the matter of his split from Sussane, is not confirmed. But here's what the press statement read: "Karan Malhotra and I have decided to unite in the most ambitious way post Shuddhi. For now, I cannot allow a vision like 'Shuddhi' to stagnate any further. I had the finest experience an actor can have working with Karan in Agneepath and I'm sure both my dear Karans (Johar and Malhotra) are going to go beyond with this one! 'Shuddhi' remains a part of me in spirit and I am sure it will be a landmark in our cinema. I wish them all the best!"

So with Hrithik and Kareena reportedly out, while some reports are claiming Ranveer Singh, Deepika's Ram-Leela co-star, will come in Hrithik's place, other reports are suggesting Ranbir Kapoor will be joining the project instead.

Sussanne Roshan lashes out at the media

/photo.cms?msid=6002679
By INDIATIMES MOVIES

Hrithik Roshan's pretty wife Sussanne Roshan is an interior designer. The star wife is all set to launch a new store in October. Apparently, news of her roping in Shah Rukh Khan instead of her husband Hrithik Roshan for the inauguration of her store was published by a newspaper recenlty.

An upset Sussanne lashed out at the publication for reporting false news by saying, "I've not done the interiors of Gauri Khan's house. That is full credit to her and I will not be asking my friends to do openings! I can't understand the rubbish that the press keeps writing. Big article in DNA fully untrue! Yes I am opening my own store. Who is to stop some journos from concocting these bizarre random stories just as they feel! Why can't they find out the truth before doing so?"

Hrithik displayed his flaring temper when he pushed few photographers for disrupting his privacy at a temple recently and seems like wife Sussanne is hot tempered too!
