When your favourite actresses locked lips with co-stars!

Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan's kiss in Dhoom-2 was much awaited by fans but later the scene was deleted from the film.

Anushka Sharma and Ranvir Singh were rumoured to be dating during Band Baja Baraat, and this lip lock provided fuel to the fire of rumours.

Deepika Padukone's kiss with Ranvir Singh in 'Goliyon ki.. Ram Leela' was the hottest ever in Bollywood as both of them were too much into it.

Katrina Kaif and Hrithik Roshan have locked lips twice and have created sensation both the times in ZNMD and Bang Bang.

Vidya Balan locked lips with Arshad Warsi way before she became the sex symbol in 'The dirty picture'.

Sonam Kapoor's steamy kiss with Ayshuman Khurrana in 'Bevkoofiyan' was a much hyped kiss as Sonam ahd avoided any such scene with co-stars earlier.

Why Aishwarya Rai rejected Varun Dhawan's 'Badlapur'?

Why Aishwarya Rai rejected Varun Dhawan's 'Badlapur'?

When world's most beautiful woman, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan decides to make a comeback into movies, the reaction is nothing short of a news.

Now, as we all are aware that `Jazbaa` will mark the comback of sorts for Ash on the silver screen, what we did not probably knew was the fact that `Badlapur` was on her mind way before `Jazbaa`.

According to reports, earlier Ash was in talks with Sriram Raghavan's film to make her comeback in Hindi movies. But she rejected the Varun Dhawan starrer `Badlapur` owing to the ensemble cast that the movie has- Huma Qureshi, Nawazuddin Siddiquia and Yami Gautam.

It seems that too many stars in one project is what the former Miss World didn't want in her comeback film. Another major reason for her to reject the movie, was the need for her to play a grey shade. Aishwarya was supposed to essay a negative character in the film.

Therefore, the lady decided to give it a miss and now Sanjay Gupta's `Jazbaa` is the one where she will be seen making a grand re-entry on the silver screens.

aishwarya-bachchan-and-irrfan-khan

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is finally making a comeback on screen- with Sanjay Gupta's film called 'Jaazba'. Although there had been news floating about her alleged comeback since time immemorial, it is finally confirmed that she will be the lead heroine for 'Jazbaa'.

In an interesting mishmash of sorts, the director has roped in Irrfan Khan to play the male protagonist in the film. The film will feature Aishwarya essay the role of a lawyer while Irrfan would play a suspended cop who has problems with authority and discipline.

'Jazbaa' will go on floors in January next year and will also be produced by Sanjay Gupta himself.

Half the nation wants Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan as friends?

A group of single Indian women want to see the sweet-and-sour camaraderie of Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan to turn sweet permanently, according to a survey.

Ahead of International Friendship Day, which falls Sunday, matrimonial website Shaadi.com conducted an online survey to find out what the country's single women felt about famous celebrity friendships.

Of the 4,700 responses received, 52.8 percent voted for SRK and Salman, followed by actresses Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra with 28.3 votes, and last but not the least, 18.9 votes for Karan Johar and Ram Gopal Varma.

The respondents were also asked to vote for the best among Bollywood's mother-son and father-son relationships. As many as 61.9 percent votes went to the friendly camaraderie between Neetu Singh and Ranbir Kapoor; and 59.2 percent votes for David Dhawan and Varun Dhawan.

Also, Shah Rukh and his daughter Suhana's friendship won a maximum of 67.8 percent as far as Bollywood's father-daughter relationships are concerned.

"The results suggest that people are looking at celebrities as real people with real relationships. These are some of the most successful Bollywood relationships whose love and understanding for each other also makes them great friends," Gourav Rakshit, COO, Shaadi.com, said in a statement.

In the survey, people were also asked about their favourite celebrity couples who are also great friends. Voters chose Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai (39.2 percent), followed by Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan (37.3 percent), and Sachin Tendulkar and Anjali Tendulkar (23.5 percent).

Aishwarya-Jaya Bachchan Patch-up In London!

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was one happy woman when her hubby Abhishek joined her along in London recently.

They are supposedly holidaying in an exotic European location with their lovely daughter Aaradhya Bachchan. Aishwarya 's rumoured hatchet with her saasu maa Jaya Bachchan has gone into thin air when even Jaya who along with daughter Shweta Nanda joined them in London.

A while ago, when the rumours were rife that there was saas-bahu rift between Ash and Jaya ji. Looks like things have changed between Ash and Jaya and maybe they want to try out holidaying together to overcome their differences in life. Aishwarya Rai after her appearance in Cannes 2014, went on to do a charity event for 'Smile Train' in London and wanted a holiday desperately.

That's why we hear Abhishek joined her in London and later Jaya and Shweta Nanda too. The only person missing in action was Amitabh Bachchan who is busy attending events in Mumbai. Lastly, we saw him in the Dilip Kumar's book launch event in Mumbai.

Let's just hope this holiday helps Aishwarya and Jaya come out of their Saas-Bahu differences

Cannes Loves the Khans, Maybe Even More Than Aishwarya

Cannes Loves the Khans, Maybe Even More Than Aishwarya
Kick, Happy New Year and Peekay were the top picks for Indian film buyers at Cannes

Aishwarya Rai may be the star attraction at the red carpet, but it was three top notch Bollywood Khans -- Shah Rukh, Aamir and Salman - who dominated the film market at the ongoing 67th Cannes International Film Festival with buyers queuing up for their forthcoming films.

SRK's Happy New Year, directed by Farah Khan and co-produced by Gauri Khan and Karim Morani, presented by Yash Raj Films; director Rajkumar Hirani's Peekay, which stars Aamir Khan in the lead and Sajid Nadiadwala's Salman-starrer directorial debut Kick, presented by Disney India-UTV and a few biopics were favourites with buyers and sales agents at the Cannes Film Market.

These 'Khan' films are being readied for release in the last quarter of the year.

Having said that, it is India's lone entry Titli, directed by Kanu Behl and produced by Dibabkar Banerjee, in the official Un Certain Regard Section, which is the talking point and also a top contender for the Palme d'Or this year. (Also Read: Titli Stems from Personal Experiences of Makers)

Anurag Kashyap, a festival favourite, did not make it to the festival, but his new film Bombay Velvet, which has Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar in the lead roles, received a positive response for Fox Star Studios India.

Besides the biggies, small production companies from India too managed to get a tight grip on the Cannes Film Market with the launch of a dozen new completed films and a few fresh production announcements.

"It is a different India now than what I saw six to seven years back," said Hollywood-based Indian producer Ashok Amritraj, chairman, Hyde Park Entertainment.

"The new Indian filmmakers have changed the face of Indian cinema and its global footprint," he added.

The endeavours of Indian filmmakers also grabbed the attention of Bobby Bedi, managing director, Kaleidoscope Entertainment, a regular at the festival for over a decade, and he couldn't stop himself from saying a few good words for the new brigade of filmmakers.

"This year the Indian producers and directors were very focused and matured than ever before," said Bedi, who announced his debut project as a director, Lajo, a big screen adaptation of Ismat Chugtai's short story, which was extremely controversial for its time.

Lajo will be produced by T P Aggarwal of Star Entertainment Worldwide. Earlier, Mani Ratnam was supposed to helm Lajo with Aamir Khan in the lead role but it did not take off.

Interestingly, biopics from India were also one of the attractions at the Cannes gala, the world's biggest gathering of film professionals from over 100 countries, in South of France.

Nanak Shah Fakir, a film produced by Harinder Sikka on the life and teachings of Guru Nanak, drew attention for its special effects and songs.

"We have completed the film and we are confident that it will have a global impact because of the subject," said Sikka, who is corporate affairs director at Piramal Group, adding that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will launch the film in the US in July.

Initially, Oscar winner Resul Pookutty got involved with the project as a sound designer, but later he associated himself with Nanak Shah Fakir as a co-producer. For four days he pitched the film at the fest and made it a talking point.

Mumbai-based Kriya Films launched their finished feature film The Answer, which tells the story of James Donald Walters, who became Swami Kriyananda, a disciple of Paramhamsa Yogananda who penned Autobiography of a Yogi.

"It is an epic motion picture that presents for the first time on the cinematic screen one of the most widely known and revered spiritual masters of our times - Paramhamsa Yogananda - in his own words through his direct disciple Swami Kriyananda," said producer Kaveeta Oberoi Kaul.

The Answer and Nanak Shah Fakir have aggressively positioned a new era of filmmaking from India at Cannes. European producer Pierre Assouline, who had produced and scripted Shaji Karun's Vanaprastham (1999), pitched his new biopic on Sant Tukaram.

From the commercial section, Viacom18 Motion Pictures aggressively pitched for Omung Kumar directed biopic Mary Kom and Shonali Bose's Margarita, With a Straw. While Priyanka Chopra plays the Olympic medallist in the former, the latter will see Kalki Koechlin as a girl suffering from cerebral palsy.

Yash Raj Films too presented its entire slate of films for international sales and distribution.

Overall, a good year for Indian films, at least at the Cannes Film Market.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Will be the 'Hero' of Jazbaa

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Will be the 'Hero' of Jazbaa
Ash will start shooting for Jazbaa in 2015

Now that little Aaradhya has started going to play school, her star mother Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is making her grand comeback with director Sanjay Gupta's Jazbaa, her first full-fledged action film. (Also read: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is the lead in Jazbaa)

For a while it seemed Aishwarya's first director Mani Ratnam would be helming her comeback film. But that project has been put on hold. Talk of Aishwarya being in a film directed by adman Prahlad Kakkad also proved to be just talk.

To be produced by Sanjay Gupta, Jazbaa will mark Aishwarya's return to the silver screen after her daughter's birth in November 2011. The film will start rolling early next year.

Confirming these developments Sanjay Gupta said: "We start Jazbaa in January 2015. We'll be showcasing Jazbaa at the Cannes film festival in 2015."

The filmmaker clarified that it's not a woman-centric drama.

"Just because Aishwarya is in Jazbaa, we should not label the film female-centric. To me, she's the hero of the film," he said.

Ash had done some action scenes in Dhoom 2, but she didn't have the kind of stunts that Hrithik Roshan had. In Gupta's film, she will do all the stunts without the help of a body-double. She has already started training for the role.

"There is no gender-specificity in what she does in the narrative. I've cast her in a role like any of the heroes in my films. She could be John Abraham in Shootout At Wadala or Sanjay Dutt in Zinda. It's that kind of a role where her gender plays no role in the proceedings."

Two prominent male actors are yet to be cast alongside Aishwarya.

Interestingly, Gupta is also working with Aishwarya's husband and actor Abhishek Bachchan in Khottey Sikkey, which he will make immediately after Jazbaa.

Gupta said: After a year's gap, when I was scripting, I am now doing three back-to-back films, beginning with Mumbai Saga starring Anil Kapoor, John Abraham, Vivek Oberoi and Manoj Bajpayee. This will be followed by Jazbaa featuring Aishwarya and then Khottey Sikkey.

The prolific filmmaker promises no compromises in the three films.

"There will be no breaks in the storytelling for item songs. I will tell the stories heedless of extraneous demands. Though Jazbaa will star Aishwarya, it won't use her ultra-glamorous personality to light up the frames. She will glow from within," said Gupta.

Talking about Natasha, the "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam" star said: "I met Natasha for the first time and she is a new mother, so we connected that way."

Aishwarya, who will walk the red carpet Tuesday and Wednesday, also has a daughter named Aradhya Bachchan with husband and actor Abhishek Bachchan.

Bollywood divas go de-glam

Aishwarya Rai Raavan
By INDIATIMES MOVIES
Bollywood divas are loved and admired for their glam quotient. But when it comes to demand for the role, our actresses don't mind playing down their hot self. We take a look at some of the glam babes who have gone de-glam playing a character.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan: She’s a true diva. But she didn’t give a second thought to deciding to shed her glam look. For Mani Ratnam's 'Raavan', Ash will be seen without make-up. The actress has earlier experimented with the simple look on-screen for movies like, 'Provoked', 'Chokker Bali' and 'Mistress Of Spices'.

Katrina Kaif Rajneeti
Katrina Kaif: She will be seen sans make-up in Prakash Jha's political saga, 'Raajneeti'. The actress opted to be simple and sober for the role to get the right feel of the character. Kat is quite a natural beauty, we must say.

Bipasha Basu Lamhaa
Bipasha Basu: Sensuous, sexy and stylish... all the things you associate with the sultry Bipasha will go missing as she plays a Kashmiri girl in the political thriller 'Lamhaa'. The actress looks confident to pull off a no-make up look.

Priyanka Chopra Saat Khoon Maaf
Priyanka Chopra: The hottest diva of Bollywood, Priyanka will also been seen in a no make-up look for the upcoming movie 'Saat Khoon Maaf'. The actress is not new to this look on-screen as she got critical acclaim for her same look in Vishal Bharadwaj’s 'Kaminey'.

Kareena Kapoor Dev
Kareena Kapoor: Even before the size-zero babe of Bollywood could make her mark in the industry Kareena experimented with her looks and roles in B-town. The actress took a bold step by going de-glam in her very first film 'Refugee' and critically acclaimed 'Dev'.

Preity Zinta Heroes
Preity Zinta: She went simple and plain for her role in the movies 'Heroes' and 'Heaven On Earth'. With a pretty face and dimpled smile, Preity succeeded in pulling off the role.

Lara Dutta Billu Barber
Lara Dutta: She opted for a plain Jane look as she played a village belle in Billu Barber.

Urmila Matondkar Pinjar
Urmila Matondkar: She shed her inhibitions for her roles in the movies 'Pinjar' and 'Ek Hasina Thi'. In totally contrast to her glam doll image, Urmila went de-glam and won critical acclaim for her acting skills.

Shilpa Shetty Phir Milenge
Shilpa Shetty: The ever-stylish and gorgeous actress too went for some experimentation with her looks on-screen. For her role in the movie 'Phir Milenge', Shilpa decided to go simple.

Raima Sen The Japanese Wife
Raima Sen: The latest actress to join in the bandwagon is Sen-sational Raima. The actress has also shed her make-up and went for a simple look in the latest film 'The Japanese Wife' opposite Rahul Bose.

Karisma Kapoor Fiza
Karishma Kapoor: She may have given the silver screen a miss in the last few years, but the actress has tried her acting in each and every aspect. She played a simple girl in the movie 'Fiza' where despite having no make-up on, she looked stunning.

Sushmita Sen Aag
Sushmita Sen: She appeared without any make-up in 'RGV Ki Aag'. Ram Gopal Verma told the actress to shed her inhibitions and face the camera without it. Sush did not contest the director’s will and pulled off her no make-up look with élan

Aishwarya's films in safe hands

Aishwarya Bachchan
By: Subhash K. Jha
Aishwarya Bachchan has three very different releases coming up this year. And the most speculated question in the industry right now is, which performance would Aishwarya get all the popular awards for, the one in Mani Ratnam's Raavan or Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Guzaarish?

Those who have seen rushes of the two films say she has given her career's best performance in both. Then she has Vipul Shah's Action Replayy where she has attempted a full-on comic role for the first time.

"Of course, comedy which is the hardest genre to do, is not taken seriously at the awards. But in my film, Aishwarya has done comedy for the first time. She may have attempted it here and there earlier. But this is her first full-fledged comedy role. But she's welcome to get the awards for her other two releases, I don't mind," says Vipul Shah wryly.

While Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Guzaarish will release in November, the two Aishwarya projects Mani Ratnam's Raavan and Vipul Shah's Action Replayy are due in quick succession within a month.

While Mani's Raavan is due for release June 18, Vipul was all set to release Action Replayy a month later in July, arguing that the two films are completely different in mood theme and treatment.

But now it seems better sense has prevailed, thanks to the bitter experience that Vipul went through last year when his Salman Khan starrerLondon Dreams was released a month after Salman's home productionMain Aur Mrs Khanna. Then too Vipul had argued that two films with the same actor do not overlap when the films belong to the same genre. Now apparently Vipul has seen sense. He plans to sit down with Mani Ratnam and figure out a release strategy whereby neither film suffers.

Says Vipul, "Raavan and Action Replayy are very different films. And I thought I'd come in July. But I think I'll now discuss it with Aishwarya and Mani Ratnam. We need to work as one big family in this industry. Besides I still have a song to shoot whereas Raavan is complete. I've yet to figure out when I can shoot it because both Aishwarya and Akshay are constantly travelling. We were supposed to shoot it earlier this year in the snow in Manali. Now we may go higher up at the Rohtang Pass, or change the location for the song completely."

In the meanwhile those fearing competition from Guzaarish can breathe easy. Contrary to rumours, Sanjay Leela Bhansali won't be releasing it in Diwali. After Saawariya, which was released during Diwali, he no longer considers the festive season auspicious for his films.

Aishwarya gets wet in rain

It’s difficult to kill two birds with a single stonebut Aishwarya Bachchan has done just that. She shot Mani Ratnam’s Raavan in Hindi and Tamil simultaneously. And she can’t stop talking about it. She revealed that she plays a non-glamorous role but got drenched in rain with mud all over.

She plays a classical dance teacher in the film and gets cosy with Vikram, who plays her hubby. She revealed that her character is strong and speaks her mind like a modern woman. She added that it was a challenge shooting simultanerously in Hindi and Tamil.

Aishwarya acts with her hubby Abhishek Bachchan, South Indian actor Vikram and Bhojpuri actor Ravi Kishan in Raavan. This film produced by Reliance BIG Pictures and Madras Talkies is scheduled for release on June 18.

Aishwarya heading south for greener pasture!

Aishwarya Bachchan
We have had South Indian stars doing Bollywood films and vice versa. Bollywood beauty Aishwarya Bachchan is reportedly planning to do a couple of Kollywood films. The stunner is no stranger to Tamil having debuted in Mani Ratnam’s Iruvar in 1997. She was raw debutant then. Today, she is a sophisticated star and one of the Bollywood's top heroines.

The actress has come full circle since those times. After almost a decade, two of Aishwarya’s upcoming projects will have Tamil versions. Raavan and Robot will be dubbed in Tamil asRavana and Endhiran respectively. These are her most ambitious Kollywood ventures so far, though she has done films like Jeans andKandukondain Kandukondain.

In Raavan, she teams up with hubby Abhishek and mentor Ratnam while inRobot, she will be seen with Rajinikanth. A Tamil coach tutored her on the language and diction for Raavan. She wooed everyone by dubbing for her own lines. She also got the tone and accent right! For Robot, it was Rajini himself who gave her lessons. A source revealed that Ash is a fast learner. Though she found it difficult at first, she was able to rattle off lengthy dialogues with ease!

This has made the diva more confident about doing Tamil projects. She loves Tamil films as they are technically and script-wise very rich. When asked about it, she stated that she has to understand the dialogues before delivering them. She dislikes mugging dialogues without knowing what she is saying. So she made special efforts to learn the nuances of Tamil before embarking on these projects. The results are there for everyone to see! Vannakam anyone?

Akki-Ash pose threat to Akki-Kat pair

Still from Action Replayy
One of the most anticipated films of the year is Vipul Shah’s Action Replayy. It is based on A Curious Case of Benjamin Button and stars Aishwarya Bachchan and Akshay Kumar. The film is making news for its unusual premise and also for its casting. It brings the two stars together for the first time. The macho khiladi and the beautiful diva surely make an attractive pair. Cinegoers are eagerly waiting to see the good-looking Jodi on screen.

But the casting coup has sparked another issue – will the Akki-Ash pair be as big a hit as the Akki-Kat one? Most of Akshay’s hit films have been with the lovely Katrina Kaif. The two have delivered several hits like Hum Ko Deewana Kar Gaye, Namastey London, Welcome and De Dhana Dhan. Their’s is one of the most successful jodi’s of recent times. Vipul himself has cast them in his two successive films, Namastey London and Singh Is Kinng. Kat is also known as Akki’s lucky mascot. Now that Vipul has chosen Ash for his latest venture, comparisons are inevitable.

The Bachchan bahu and Akshay were seen together in the 2004 filmKhakee. Though Ash was cast opposite Ajay Devgn, their chemistry was evident in the songs “Vaada Raha” and “Dil Dooba”. This will be her first full-on comedy film. Though the pair looks refreshing and promising, it remains to be seen how they will be received by the audience. Incidentally, this is another chapter in Aishwarya-Katrina face-off. Kat had recently replaced Aishwarya as the face of a leading soap brand. And now the latter is Akshay new leading lady!

Wonder how this will turn out!

Abhi-Ash off to US for 3rd wedding anniversary

Abhishek and Aishwarya
By Raymond Ronamai
On this day, three years ago, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai (Now Aishwarya Bachchan) tied the knot amidst lots of media attention. They looked stunning together on the wedding day. Three years have passed yet they are still madly in love with each other. To add spice to their lives, they have flown off to the US to celebrate their 3rd wedding anniversary.

Abhishek hinted on his Twitter page that he would take his wife to a far off place. “Hope the crew is well? Its Houdini time again. Have managed to abduct the wife. See you'll soon. One love!” he wrote.

It is said that the couple would spend the day at an undisclosed location in the US. However, they are expected to attend the music release function of their much-hyped film Raavan on April 24.
