Rajinikanth is back! After three long years, the superstar is back on the silver screen with a period drama called 'Kochadaiiyaan'. The film just like its name is unique as it introduces animated motion capture technology in 3D for the first time in India.
The film has been in the making for sometime now. Post production delays have ensured enough curiosity on the film. Directed by Saundarya R Ashwin, the superstar's daughter, the film is a tale of a king. Apart from Rajini, the film also features Deepika Padukone, Shobhana, Jackie Shroff and Nasser on key roles.
While Rajinikanth films usually work due to the superstar's popularity, 'Kochadaiiyaan' success will also depend on how the new technology is used in mainstream Indian cinema. The trailers of the film have opened to mix response and many of Rajini's fans aren't too happy about the physical absence of the star. Will the film be able to break prejudices?
