New Delhi: One of the most awaited films of this year—'Happy New Year' released a day after Diwali, and received a thundering audience response the very first day. According to a renowned trade analyst, the film has raked in Rs 45 crore on the opening day, a record for any Hindi film so far.
According to the data generated by the trade pundit—'Happy New Year' has made Rs 44.97 crore on the opening day, which means in Hindi—Rs 42.62 crore, Telugu Rs 1.43 crore and Tamil Rs 92 lacs.
'Happy New Year' has been directed by Farah Khan, and has Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah in pivotal roles. The film is a heist comedy-drama, majorly shot in Dubai.
