The compulsions may be varied: some had to take the roles as they were desperate to get a foot-hold in the industry, while the others took the role as they made the mistake of thinking that the roles are backed by strong roles. But the result was a damp-squib. As you read on you will be surprised to know that major stars of Bollywood have done this mistake. Amitabh Bachchan played a shady role in Boom and that was his biggest mistake. He confessed later that he should not have done this role.

Katrina Kaif: Again this huge star of today had played a shady role in the film Boom. She does not want to even remember that role. Seeing her position in the industry today one can understand that.

Shakti Kapoor shocked everyone with his raunchy act in Meri Life Main Uski Wife. The aaaooo man was part of many B grade films and continues to work in Bollywood films. The actor has also worked with top stars in the industry.

The romantic superstar Rajesh Khanna disappointed his fans by being a part of a B grade film like Wafa: A Deadly Love Story. It was a considered to be his comeback film. He was criticized by many. The movie was directed by by Rakesh Sawant.

Mamta Kulkarni, who was part of A grade films like Karan Arjun and Krantiveer was seen donning a different look in Divine Temple Khajuraho. The actress was seen in many bold scenes in the film.

CID probe Shruti Haasan leaked hot photos episode

Tollywood's hot actress Shruti Haasan was left distressed after images surfaced on the internet of her Pimple Dimple song shoot from the movie Yevadu that were taken from awkward angles making it look vulgar.



The pics became a rage on the internet and went viral much to the embarrassment of the actress. She had later filed a complaint on the issue claiming the pics were released and published without her permission. Now the CID is investigating the matter.


These are the pics that have been circulating on the internet which have Shruti fuming and now she wants the cyber cell of the CID to take necessary action against those who are misusing her photographs without her permission.

Ahead of the Modi government's swearing in ceremony, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has come into the action to crack down on kissing and intimate scenes in the movies.

And it’s first victim post Lok Sabha elections is Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt starrer Karan Johar’s next 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya'.

According to the sources, after watching the official trailer, the CBFC has asked the makers of 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya' to remove the kissing scene between Alia and Varun from the movie.

Karan Johar has expressed shock over the CBFC move and argued that it didn’t happen with movies like 2 States, Jism 2, Ragini MMS2 and other Bollywood flicks with hot smooching, kissing and lovemaking scenes.

Sources claim that CBFC has precautionary measure with the formation of new government. CBFC has also asked regional offices to check the content of regional movies too.

CBFC has asked Karan Johar to use the long shot of Varun and Alia’s kissing scene.

CBFC is awaiting new government’s stands on content of Bollywood movies. Earlier it had banned cleavage show on silver screens.

'Kochadaiiyaan' Tweet Review: Watch the film for its technical brilliance; it's new to Indian cinema

Rajinikanth is back! After three long years, the superstar is back on the silver screen with a period drama called 'Kochadaiiyaan'. The film just like its name is unique as it introduces animated motion capture technology in 3D for the first time in India.

The film has been in the making for sometime now. Post production delays have ensured enough curiosity on the film. Directed by Saundarya R Ashwin, the superstar's daughter, the film is a tale of a king. Apart from Rajini, the film also features Deepika Padukone, Shobhana, Jackie Shroff and Nasser on key roles.

While Rajinikanth films usually work due to the superstar's popularity, 'Kochadaiiyaan' success will also depend on how the new technology is used in mainstream Indian cinema. The trailers of the film have opened to mix response and many of Rajini's fans aren't too happy about the physical absence of the star. Will the film be able to break prejudices? Indian Express surfers vote Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as best dressed at Cannes 2014

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been voted best dress beauty by Indian Express surfers at Cannes 2014. 

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan emerged as the best-dressed Indian beauty at the 67th Cannes Film Festival, according to an online poll conducted by The Indian Express

Aishwarya Rai no doubt deserves every bit of the praise for her dazzling red carpet appearances – in a gold coloured Roberto Cavalli gown and the white embellished gown, also by Cavalli.  Aishwarya Rai got over 2,500 votes for her red carpet appearances at this year’s Cannes.

Coming in a close second was fashionista Sonam Kapoor, who also wowed us in her four looks – the black Elie Saab gown, the red flowy gown, also by Elie Saab, the ethnic look in Anamika Khanna and our favouite – lilac by Elie Saab. She got 21 per cent votes.

Indian export to Hollywood, Frieda Pinto came third, credit going to her gorgeous Oscar de la Renta gown and Mallika Sherawat got the least amount of votes.

Let’s hope she steps it up a bit next year at Cannes.

Cannes Loves the Khans, Maybe Even More Than Aishwarya

Kick, Happy New Year and Peekay were the top picks for Indian film buyers at Cannes 

Aishwarya Rai may be the star attraction at the red carpet, but it was three top notch Bollywood Khans -- Shah Rukh, Aamir and Salman - who dominated the film market at the ongoing 67th Cannes International Film Festival with buyers queuing up for their forthcoming films. 

SRK's Happy New Year, directed by Farah Khan and co-produced by Gauri Khan and Karim Morani, presented by Yash Raj Films; director Rajkumar Hirani's Peekay, which stars Aamir Khan in the lead and Sajid Nadiadwala's Salman-starrer directorial debut Kick, presented by Disney India-UTV and a few biopics were favourites with buyers and sales agents at the Cannes Film Market. 

These 'Khan' films are being readied for release in the last quarter of the year. 

Having said that, it is India's lone entry Titli, directed by Kanu Behl and produced by Dibabkar Banerjee, in the official Un Certain Regard Section, which is the talking point and also a top contender for the Palme d'Or this year. (Also Read: Titli Stems from Personal Experiences of Makers)

Anurag Kashyap, a festival favourite, did not make it to the festival, but his new film Bombay Velvet, which has Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar in the lead roles, received a positive response for Fox Star Studios India. 

Besides the biggies, small production companies from India too managed to get a tight grip on the Cannes Film Market with the launch of a dozen new completed films and a few fresh production announcements. 

"It is a different India now than what I saw six to seven years back," said Hollywood-based Indian producer Ashok Amritraj, chairman, Hyde Park Entertainment. 

"The new Indian filmmakers have changed the face of Indian cinema and its global footprint," he added. 

The endeavours of Indian filmmakers also grabbed the attention of Bobby Bedi, managing director, Kaleidoscope Entertainment, a regular at the festival for over a decade, and he couldn't stop himself from saying a few good words for the new brigade of filmmakers. 

"This year the Indian producers and directors were very focused and matured than ever before," said Bedi, who announced his debut project as a director, Lajo, a big screen adaptation of Ismat Chugtai's short story, which was extremely controversial for its time. 

Lajo will be produced by T P Aggarwal of Star Entertainment Worldwide. Earlier, Mani Ratnam was supposed to helm Lajo with Aamir Khan in the lead role but it did not take off. 

Interestingly, biopics from India were also one of the attractions at the Cannes gala, the world's biggest gathering of film professionals from over 100 countries, in South of France.

Nanak Shah Fakir, a film produced by Harinder Sikka on the life and teachings of Guru Nanak, drew attention for its special effects and songs. 

"We have completed the film and we are confident that it will have a global impact because of the subject," said Sikka, who is corporate affairs director at Piramal Group, adding that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will launch the film in the US in July.

Initially, Oscar winner Resul Pookutty got involved with the project as a sound designer, but later he associated himself with Nanak Shah Fakir as a co-producer. For four days he pitched the film at the fest and made it a talking point. 

Mumbai-based Kriya Films launched their finished feature film The Answer, which tells the story of James Donald Walters, who became Swami Kriyananda, a disciple of Paramhamsa Yogananda who penned Autobiography of a Yogi.

"It is an epic motion picture that presents for the first time on the cinematic screen one of the most widely known and revered spiritual masters of our times - Paramhamsa Yogananda - in his own words through his direct disciple Swami Kriyananda," said producer Kaveeta Oberoi Kaul.

The Answer and Nanak Shah Fakir have aggressively positioned a new era of filmmaking from India at Cannes. European producer Pierre Assouline, who had produced and scripted Shaji Karun's Vanaprastham (1999), pitched his new biopic on Sant Tukaram.

From the commercial section, Viacom18 Motion Pictures aggressively pitched for Omung Kumar directed biopic Mary Kom and Shonali Bose's Margarita, With a Straw. While Priyanka Chopra plays the Olympic medallist in the former, the latter will see Kalki Koechlin as a girl suffering from cerebral palsy.

Yash Raj Films too presented its entire slate of films for international sales and distribution.

Overall, a good year for Indian films, at least at the Cannes Film Market.

Has Kareena Kapoor lost her title as the 'Queen of Bollywood'?

Kareena Kapoor Khan and Cameron Diaz - both of these ladies have done some amazing work in their careers, both critically and commercially.

 
Each of them have played at least one character for which they will be remembered forever. Kareena's role in 'Jab We Met' and Cameron's in "There's Something About Mary" are two such roles.

Rise to prominence (2009–12)
In 2009 Vidya played the role of an unwed gynecologist struggling with her 12-year-old son's Progeria Syndrome, in the R. Balki directed dramedy 'Paa'. Amitabh Bachchan played the role of Vidya's son and Abhishek Bachchan played the titular character. A critical and commercial success, the film has been described as a major turning point in her career. She still continues to star in various movies.

Vidya's next appearance was in Ekta Kapoor's production The Dirty Picture, this film was based on the life and death of the controversial Indian actress Silk Smitha. Vidya was cast as Silk.She described the role as the "boldest" she had ever played and to look the part, she gained 12 kilograms.Vidya won a second Filmfare Award, a third consecutive Screen Award, and a National Film Award for Best Actress.

In 2012, vidya starred as Vidya Bagchi,a pregnant woman in search of her missing husband in Sujoy Ghosh's Kahaani (2012). The thriller eas set in the city of Kolkata. itemerged as a major hit.Vidya won a fourth consecutive Best Actress Award at Screen and a third Best Actress Award at Filmfare.

Madhuri Dixit



1984–87 Early roles
She made her acting debut in Rajshri Productions' movie Abodh in 1984 opposite the Bengali actor, Tapas Paul.In 1986, Dixit starred in two movies, Swati and Manav Hatya but both films flopped at the box office.
1988–89 Breakthrough
The lead female role of Mohini in N. Chandra's blockbuster Tezaab opposite Anil Kapoor was a breakthrough for her and then she starred in movies like  Ram Lakhan, Prem Pratigyaa and Tridev. She then starred in many blockbuster films.

In 2007 her come back movie  Aaja Nachle earned her the record-setting thirteenth nomination for the Filmfare Best Actress Award.

She also reciver a Flimfare Special Award in honour of her 25years in the Bollywood industry.

In 2012, Madhuri Dixit unveiled her saute at Madame Tussauds London.

SRK richer than Cruise in H'wood-Bollywood rich list

New York, May 21 (PTI) Shah Rukh Khan is the lone Indian celebrity to make it to a list of the top ten wealthiest Hollywood and Bollywood personalities by beating stars like Tom Cruise and Johnny Depp.

The 48-year-old actor, who is the owner of an IPL team and acted in more than 50 Bollywood films, has come second on the Wealth-X's list with an estimated fortune of USD 600 million.

‘Dhoom’ actor Uday Chopra has done it again! Producer-director Aditya Chopra’s brother Uday, who is rumoured to be dating ‘Madras Cafe’ actress Nargis Fakhri, tweeted a picture of himself using a mug with Nargis’ picture on it.

This is not the first time that Uday Chopra has fueled rumours about his love life. Earlier too, the actor was seen flirting with Nargis Fakhri on Twitter.

Uday Chopra apparently posted, “Nargis did you know we are related. Your future sons’ father is my father’s son.” After which his ‘Dhoom’ co-star Abhishek Bachchan said: “Get a room kids”. However, these tweets were instantly removed’.

He further tweeted: “Things @NargisFakhri loves traveling,spas, Doritos, pizza and ME!”

Uday Chopra also went on to tweet: “Ok fine I don’t love @NargisFakhri but please don’t tell her that or she’ll kill me

Indian designers hail Aishwarya's Cannes look

Looking like a goddess drenched in gold, actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan finally made an appearance at the ongoing film festival at Cannes. Dressed in a sculpted, metallic dress by designer Roberto Cavalli, Ash's look got a big thumbs up from fans and critics alike. After all the flak the 40-year-old received for her weight earlier, her look made for red-carpet redemption. 

Asked about Ash's Cannes appearance, designer Manish Malhotra said, "I think she is looking simply beautiful. Re-defining motherhood and looking sensuous and really glamorous. The cut of the outfit is complimentary and highlights her recent weight loss perfectly."

Designer Masaba Gupta added that the Indian brigade has done everyone stylishly proud, "Even Sonam's (Kapoor) look was amazing, especially in the sari and now Aishwarya - she looks really outstanding, like a whole new person!" 

Designer duo Falguni and Shane Peacock told us, "We feel this is one of her hottest looks on the red carpet. The two tones of gold have been amalgamated perfectly in this outfit. Gold is also the colour for the season internationally and the silhouette is perfectly accentuating her curves. The red lips and the hair make her look sexy and classy at the same time."

On Cavalli's Instagram account, a picture of Aishwarya coming out of her limo was posted with a caption that said, "Our golden girl Aishwarya Rai making the sun jealous of her beauty!" 

Mumbai-based designer Nikhil Thampi posted another picture of the actor, with a caption which simply read, "There she is, like a live mermaid!" referring to the fishtail hem on the gown, adding, "Gosh! Breathtaking. Hence she rules the world."

Word of praise came from husband Abhishek also, who tweeted, "Almost 52hrs without sleep! Eyes shutting… and the Mrs. Shows up looking like this!! Ok.. Eyes wide open now!"

Salman Khan Hit-And-Run Case: Can't Remember Seeing Actor Drink, Says Witness

Two more witnesses in the 2002 hit-and-run case involving actor Salman Khan testified in a Mumbai court on Monday.

The first witness, a waiter who was working at a bar that Mr Khan had visited prior to the accident, told the court that Salman had visited the bar with a group of friends and that the group had ordered alcohol that evening. The waiter, 42-year-old Moloy Baug also identified the actor in court. However during cross-questioning he said he did not remember having seen Mr Khan consume alcohol that evening. 

He later told reporters, "That day Salman came at night around 11-11:30PM and he was with his friends. There were around 7-8 of them. He came while the restaurant was quite full so he was standing at the bar for some time. They placed their order...with the manager after which I served the drinks and the food on the table.

Mr Baug said that while he served Bacardi Rum and cocktails that evening he did not recall noticing Mr Khan consuming alcohol himself. 

Along with the waiter a police constable, Laxman More, who was assigned as a bodyguard for the actor's brother Sohail Khan also testified in court. 

On the day of the mishap, Mr More was posted at Mr Khan's residential building along with others. Both Sohail and Salman had gone to 'Rain Bar' that night. He told the court that at around 3:00 am, a man came running to Salman's apartment and informed them that Salman Khan had met with an accident nearby. The constable told the court that he rushed to the spot with this man in his car but did not find Salman Khan there. 

Mr Khan, attired in a grey shirt and blue denims, was present in court on Monday. His sisters Alvira and Arpita were also present. 

Earlier this month, three eyewitnesses had testified before the court and identified the actor. Mr Khan, 47, was present for the hearing held on May 6, during which one of the survivors claimed that the actor was so drunk on the night of the accident that he fell down, then got up and ran away from the accident site.

The witness, who was injured in the accident, had claimed that he saw Mr Khan getting out from the right side of the Toyota Land Cruiser whereas the actor's lawyers have argued for nearly a decade that he was not at the wheel.

One of the witnesses had even complained to the police that she had received a threatening call in connection to the case.

One person was killed and four others were injured when a car allegedly driven by Salman Khan rammed into a bakery shop on September 28, 2002. 

Altogether six witnesses have so far deposed in the re-trial, which continues on Tuesday. In December, a Mumbai court ordered a fresh trial for Mr Khan, who is accused now of culpable homicide in the hit-and-run case and faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted. He originally faced lesser charges of rash and negligent driving.

Sunjay Kapur files a petition; seeks custody of kids

The trouble between actor Karisma Kapoor and her estranged husband Sunjay Kapur doesn't seem to end. Sunjay recently filed a petition for the custody of their kids, Samaira, 9, and Kiaan, 4, at a family court in Mumbai.

A copy of the petition was sent to Karisma as well.

Rumours are also rife that Karisma doesn't like Sunjay's proximity to hotelier Vikram Chatwal's ex-wife, Priya.

Karisma Kapoor's marriage has been in trouble for a while now. The former actor moved out of her husband's Delhi home with her children sometime after the birth of her son in 2010.

Since then they have been living in a state of quasi separation.

Karisma married Sunjay on September 29, 2003. Their first child Samaira was born on March 11, 2005 and son Kiaan on March 12, 2010.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Will be the 'Hero' of Jazbaa

Ash will start shooting for Jazbaa in 2015

Now that little Aaradhya has started going to play school, her star mother Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is making her grand comeback with director Sanjay Gupta's Jazbaa, her first full-fledged action film. (Also read: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is the lead in Jazbaa) 

For a while it seemed Aishwarya's first director Mani Ratnam would be helming her comeback film. But that project has been put on hold. Talk of Aishwarya being in a film directed by adman Prahlad Kakkad also proved to be just talk.

To be produced by Sanjay Gupta, Jazbaa will mark Aishwarya's return to the silver screen after her daughter's birth in November 2011. The film will start rolling early next year.

Confirming these developments Sanjay Gupta said: "We start Jazbaa in January 2015. We'll be showcasing Jazbaa at the Cannes film festival in 2015."

The filmmaker clarified that it's not a woman-centric drama.

"Just because Aishwarya is in Jazbaa, we should not label the film female-centric. To me, she's the hero of the film," he said.

Ash had done some action scenes in Dhoom 2, but she didn't have the kind of stunts that Hrithik Roshan had. In Gupta's film, she will do all the stunts without the help of a body-double. She has already started training for the role.

"There is no gender-specificity in what she does in the narrative. I've cast her in a role like any of the heroes in my films. She could be John Abraham in Shootout At Wadala or Sanjay Dutt in Zinda. It's that kind of a role where her gender plays no role in the proceedings."

Two prominent male actors are yet to be cast alongside Aishwarya.

Interestingly, Gupta is also working with Aishwarya's husband and actor Abhishek Bachchan in Khottey Sikkey, which he will make immediately after Jazbaa.

Gupta said: After a year's gap, when I was scripting, I am now doing three back-to-back films, beginning with Mumbai Saga starring Anil Kapoor, John Abraham, Vivek Oberoi and Manoj Bajpayee. This will be followed by Jazbaa featuring Aishwarya and then Khottey Sikkey.

The prolific filmmaker promises no compromises in the three films.

"There will be no breaks in the storytelling for item songs. I will tell the stories heedless of extraneous demands. Though Jazbaa will star Aishwarya, it won't use her ultra-glamorous personality to light up the frames. She will glow from within," said Gupta.

Shah Rukh couldn’t take such false allegations lying down and took to Twitter to clarify his stance.

In a hilarious twist, KRK had announced that he is leaving India, soon after the election results were out. The strangest bit in the story is that the controversial actor said that he is leaving because Narendra Modi is touted to be the next Prime Minister of India.

Selena Gomez was reportedly pregnant in 2012, and after losing her baby with Justin Bieber to miscarriage was sent into a downward spiral that led to a stint in rehab.

Though the rumors picked up steam this week and even garnered a front-page story in one of the biggest gossip magazines, Gomez and her reps vehemently deny that the actress and singer was ever pregnant.

The story of Selena Gomez’s alleged pregnancy came from In Touch, which published a story claiming that Justin Bieber had gotten Selena Gomez pregnant in 2012.

“She wanted that baby. She was convinced it was meant to be and that it was a sign that she and Justin should be together forever,” a source reportedly told the magazine.

Another source allegedly close to Bieber added: “His team felt it would ruin his career because at the time he had a clean image. They thought it would take away from his reputation as a heartthrob if he were walking around with a baby carrier at 18. Or he’d look like a real jerk if he wasn’t involved in bringing up his own child.”

The pregnancy rumor had at least some basis. Selena Gomez had raised eyebrows last year when she cut her Australian tour short, which she said was due to a need to spend time on herself.

Gomez released a statement to fans that read:

My fans are so important to me and I would never want to disappoint them. But it has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be.

But Selena Gomez later made a brief trip to rehab, entering The Meadows in February but leaving after just six days.

Selena Gomez and her team are now going after the pregnancy rumors, saying she was never pregnant and that there was no “downward spiral.”

“She has been working nonstop for six years. She needs to take some time for herself.”

There are more outlets taking on the rumor that Selena Gomez is pregnant. Gossip Cop, a blog dedicated to debunking tabloid reports, deemed the rumor “100 percent false.” The blog went on to point out that In Touch has been known to make up stories about miscarriages, as it did with Khloe Kardashian.

Pamela Anderson reveals sexual abuse: 'I just wanted off this earth'

Actress Pamela Anderson revealed Friday that she suffered sexual abuse throughout her childhood, starting at age 6 when she was molested by a babysitter.

The former "Baywatch" star talked about it in remarks at the launch of her animal rights charity -- The Pamela Anderson Foundation -- at the Cannes Film Festival in France.

"I feel now might be the time to reveal some of my most painful memories," she said, according to the transcript posted on her online blog.

Although she had "loving parents" while growing up in British Columbia, Canada, Anderson said she "did not have an easy childhood."

She recounted being molested between the ages of 6 and 10 "by my female babysitter," and then being raped when she was 12 by the 25-year-old brother of a "friend's boyfriend." The man "decided he would teach me backgammon, which led into a back massage, which led into rape," she said.

Coincidentally, the Cannes event at which she revealed the rape was a backgammon tournament.

"Needless to say, I had a hard time trusting humans," Anderson said. "I just wanted off this earth."

Although her parents "tried to keep me safe," the "world was not a safe place," she said. Her mother was busy working two waitressing jobs, she said.

"My mom was always crying," she said.

She never told her mother about the molestation and rapes because "I couldn't (bear) to give her any more disruptive information," she said. "I couldn't break her heart any more than it was breaking."

Anderson, now 46, said her love for animals saved her.

"My loyalty remained with the animal kingdom," she said. "I vowed to protect them and only them. I prayed to the whales with my feet in the ocean. My only real friends, till I had children."

Before her acting career took off, Anderson started her career as a Playboy centerfold, appearing on 13 covers of the magazine starting in 1989.

Anushka Sharma is one of the best young actors in India: Ranveer Singh

Actor Ranveer Singh, who will beseen along side Anushka Sharma in upcoming film Dil Dhadakne Do, says he shares a special bond with the actress and is looking forward to work with her. 

Ranveer Singh, 28, and Anushka first appeared together in Band Baaja Baarat, which turned out to be a successful film. They were later seen together in Ladies vs Ricky Bahl. 

Now, director Zoya Akhtar has managed to cast Ranveer and Anushka in Dil Dhadakne Do. "Yes... we are in touch with each other. We share a very healthy and professional relationship. I believe Anushka is one of the best young actors in our country. She is incredibly talented and we work well together. I share special chemistry with her. I am excited to work with her again as it has been a long gap since we worked together," Ranveer said. 

Dil Dhadakne Do will see Ranveer and Anushka as a couple, while Ranveer and Priyanka Chopra will play siblings. It also features Farhan Akhtar, Anil Kapoor and Shefali Shah. 

Apparently, the film revolves around a Punjabi family on a cruise trip. It is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment and scheduled to release next year in June. 

"I was waiting for the next opportunity where I will get to work with her (Anushka) again as we worked well together in our previous films. She hasn't been part of prep process as she got back from shooting of NH 10," Ranveer said. 

Anushka is turning producer with NH 10, an upcoming thriller film directed by Navdeep Singh of Manorama Six Feet Under fame. The film is co-produced by Phantom Films and is scheduled to release in September this year. 

"I am very proud of the fact that she is the youngest producer in Hindi film industry. I know little about 'NH 10', I know it is going to be a fantastic film," Ranveer said.

Cannes: Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai, who is here to attend the ongoing 67th Cannes International Film Festival, has made some new friends - she connected with Freida Pinto and Natasha Poly - on the first meeting.

While "Slumdog Millionaire" fame Freida is Hollywood-based Indian actress, Natasha is a Russian model.

The L`Oreal Paris ambassadors Aishwarya and Freida met at a special shoot for L`Oreal Paris at Cannes and both were excited.

"I have met Freida for the first time in person. All of us L`Oreal Paris spokespeople are so different, but each one of us is worth it," Aishwarya said in a statement. 

Talking about Natasha, the "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam" star said: "I met Natasha for the first time and she is a new mother, so we connected that way." 

Aishwarya, who will walk the red carpet Tuesday and Wednesday, also has a daughter named Aradhya Bachchan with husband and actor Abhishek Bachchan.

Justin Bieber accused of attempted robbery ... of a cellphone

In this week's episode of Justin Bieber's brush with the law, the pop singer has been accused of attempted robbery, police said.

It sounds worse than it may be: The alleged incident is apparently over a cellphone.

The Los Angeles Police Department didn't offer up too many details.

Police spokeswoman Rosario Herrera said the incident in question took place Monday night. The department didn't receive a complaint until Tuesday, and officers were interviewing the person Tuesday night.

Herrera wouldn't say any more.

CNN affiliate KTLA was able to tease a little bit more out of police.

Officers were called out because Bieber had allegedly tried to take a girl's phone, Sgt. Paul McLaughlin told the affiliate.

The gossip website TMZ said it spoke with a woman who identified herself as the one who filed the complaint:

The woman said Bieber and his crew "got into an altercation with some guys" at a batting cage in Sherman Oaks on Monday night, according to the website.

Bieber saw her reaching for her cell phone, and demanded she hand over her phone so he could delete any photos she may have snapped, TMZ said.

When she refused, he reached into her purse and grabbed it, the woman told the site.

CNN's attempts to reach Bieber's reps or his lawyer were unsuccessful Tuesday night. CNN was also trying to get in touch with the managers of the batting cage where the incident reportedly occurred.

As for Bieber, he was in Oklahoma City taking in a game between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Whirlwind of controversy

The accusation is just the latest incident in what has been a whirlwind year of controversy for the pop star.

There was the DUI arrest in Miami, the assault charge in Toronto, the felony vandalism probe in Los Angeles.

The Federal Aviation Administration also is investigating allegations that Bieber and other passengers onboard a charter flight from Canada to New Jersey's Teterboro Airport interfered with the flight crew, the agency said.

None of the criminal charges facing Bieber, including the expected vandalism count, appear to threaten his freedom. Probation sentences, fines, community service and counseling are routinely given in such cases.

Hit-and-run case: panic as Rs. 500 cr riding on Salman Khan?

With three witnesses having deposed against actor Salman Khan as the culprit in the 2002 hit-and-run case, Bollywood seems to be in a state of ­anxiety.

Reason: Rs. 500 crore is riding on his already-announced films, home productions and brand endorsements. So, if the actor is sent to custody, it’ll mean a grand loss for these filmmakers.

The actor, who has almost wrapped up Sajid Nadiadwala’s Eid release Kick, has several other ­biggies lined up, including Sooraj Barjatya’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Anees Bazmee’s No Entry Mein Entry and Kabir Khan’s next that will also be produced by him.

"Of course, everyone is ­concerned about Salman but I think it’s early days in the case, and there’s a long way to go before you can say that things might go against him," says trade analyst Komal Nahta.

While Salman’s acting assignments have almost Rs. 350 crore riding on him, his ads (including an automobile brand and a soft drink campaign) are pegged at around Rs. 50 crore.

"God forbid, if the case goes against Salman, and he is gone for 5-10 years, then that’s it. It’s the end of his career. He is at the top of his game right now," says ad guru Prahlad Kakkar.

Bazmee says it’s a concerning issue, but hopes that things will go in the actor’s favour.

"Everyone knows how big a star Salman is. But I am sure everything will be fine," he says.

Trade analyst Amod Mehra also says there’s no reason to worry, "Technically speaking, Salman only has Kick riding on him because the other films are yet to go on the floor. But there’s no reason for ­concern because we are all hoping that all will be well."

Besides films and brands, Salman also has a few production ventures —  a Sooraj Pancholi-Athiya Shetty starrer Hero remake, and Kabir’s next, whose price has been pegged at around Rs. 150 crore.
