South industry to ban B'wood stars going to IIFA

Vivek Oberoi leaving for IIFA

Oh-oh. Looks like soon we will be witness to the South films vs Bollywood battle. The SIFCC (South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce) has threatened to boycott all those Bollywood stars who are attending the 11th International Indian Film Academy Awards which is being held from today to June 5.
SIFCC is mighty upset with the choice of venue as they allege that the Sri Lankan government is trying to project that peace has come back to the country.
Earlier SIFCC declared that it will ban the event, after appeals from Kamal Haasan to change the venue, went unheeded. While Kamal Haasan has decided not to attend the event, supporting his decision are Khushboo, director Mani Ratnam, and apparently Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. A bit of a surprise really, because Amitabh Bachchan is the brand ambassador of the event.
Some of the stars who are attending the event are Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor and Salman Khan, IIFA’s newly appointed social initiative ambassador.
