Lionesses keep date with Amitabh Bachchan in Gir forest

Ahmedabad: The Don arrived to a grand welcome in Junagadh on Tuesday morning. After his chartered flight landed at Diu airport, Gujarat's tourism ambassador Amitabh Bachchan reached Gir by road at around 10:30 am.

After a day of relaxing at a guest house having rooms specially prepared for him, Bachchan went into the forest in the evening and came back an elated man after sighting a pride of eight lions - five cubs and three lionesses.
"He was visibly excited and took lots of photographs of the wild animals," a source in Junagadh said. Soon enough, Bachchan's tweet read, "Back from the jungle and ... YES!! Saw them!! Three of them sitting under a dry tree .. beautiful." An earlier tweet, as he readied for the trip, read, "They are ready now for me and I need to go and do my make up for the shoot .. Must look nice to the lions, no??"
Bachchan is staying in a room especially prepared for him at the forest department's guest house Sinh Sadan in Sasan. Sources said the veteran thespian spent much of the day relaxing in his room and had lunch by himself. He spent the afternoon surfing the net and tweeting. "A whole hoard of personnel came over to set up the internet ... finally got it working ... phew!! Relief!! Now to connect to you..", a tweet in the afternoon read.
In the evening, the actor was scheduled to watch a dance performance titled 'Dhamal Nrutya', to be performed by the local Siddi tribe. Bachchan is likely to visit Somnath for the next phase of the shoot.
Some of those who met him on his arrival felt he was looking rather exhausted. It was almost fiesta time in Junagadh as the actor's convoy sped through the town. Cheers and shouts of 'Don' greeted him at Sinh Sadan. The actor was pleased, and shook hands with most of the people present there, thanking them for their appreciation. His latest blog post is full of praises and beautiful pictures of Mandvi beach and the palace.
