PATHANAMTHITTA: Film director and chairman of Chalachitra Academy K R Mohanan has said that the Malayalam cinema is under the firm grip of market mechanism. naugurating the exhibition of classic cinema-short film festival, organised jointly by the Press Club and District Information Office at the Press Club hall here on Saturday,
Mohanan complimented the move to introduce new and short films. “The crisis in the film industry at present is caused by commercial factors,” Mohanan said.
“Even after resolving the issue, there is hardly any guarantee on the quality of the movies,” he said
Press Club president Zakhir Hussain presided over the function.
District Information Officer N Radhakrishna Pillai and Press Club secretary Sam Chempakathil spoke.
