In what can be temed as good news for the makers of '3 Idiots,’ the movie has earned 14 International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) nominations, and is leading the nomination list.
The 11th edition of IIFA Weekend Awards will be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka from June 3rd - 5th, 2010.
Nomination for IIFA awards were compiled through industry voting in March. The results of this industry voting were audited by PriceWaterhouse Coopers, the auditing firm for IIFA and Oscars.
‘3 Idiots’ and its nominations for IIFA 2010:
The ‘3 Idiots’ has been nominated for categories like Best Film, Best Direction, Best Lyrics and Best Story.
While Sharman Joshi and R. Madhavan have also been nominated for the category, Best Performance in Supporting Role- Male, Omi Vaidya( Chatur) has won nomination for the Best Performance in a Comic Role.
The movie has also been nominated in categories like of Leading Role – Male and Leading Role – Female ( Amir Khan and Kareena Kapoor respectively).
The songs like ‘Behti Hawa Sa Tha Wo,’ ‘All Izz Wel’ and ‘Zoobi Doobi’ has also be nominated.
In short, all went well for ‘3 idiots’ in IIFA 2010 nominations and the movie has won nominations in all the categories except for best performance in Supporting Role- Female.
It seems that the super duper hit of the year 2009 ,‘3 idiots,’ has indeed managed to impress everybody. Now let’s see after 14 nominations in IIFA awards, what will be “Janta’s final faisla” , for ‘3 Idiots’.
The online voting for the Awards will start on “Iifa.com” from May 10 to June 1 and will be open to audiences of Indian cinema, across the world.
The ‘4th Idiot’
Based on the popularity of ‘3 idiots’ Producer and Director Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury, is coming up with a new animated movie ‘4th idiot’.
