Taking Raavan to Cannes

We all saw Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan and Vikram cheering for Mani Ratnam at the Cannes film festival on Monday.
The director will be honoured with Jaeger-LeCoultre Glory to the Filmmaker Award at the Venice Film Festival to be held in September.
This was announced by Venice Film Festival director Marco Mueller just before the launch of Raavan at a press conference. Mani Ratnam's wife, Suhasini Ratnam, lyricist Prasoon Joshi and Reliance's Amit Khanna were also present at the press conference.
Mani Ratnam and music composer A R Rahman were absent from the press conference as they are busy with the final cut of the film.
Suhasini Ratnam, who is a writer and co-producer on this film, presented the film to the press on his behalf.
Mueller has also announced that Mani Ratnam's Raavan will be presented at the Venice Film Festival.
