Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari is one of the biggest hits of Chiranjeevi’s career. The movie directed by renowned director Raghavendra Rao also starred Sridevi and Amrish Puri. A decade after the release of the Tollywood blockbuster, the makers of JVAS are planning its sequel.
The movie which released on May 9, 1990 was an instant hit as it was a mix of mythology with fantasy. The story basically revolved around a guide (played by Chiranjeevi) who is the care taker of four orphaned children and Indraja (portrayed by Sridevi) who is shown as Lord Indra’s daughter. JVAS was subsequently dubbed in Tamil as Kaadhal Devathai, in Hindi as Aadmi Aur Apsara and in Malayalam as Hai Sundari. The movie received high accolade in states like Karnataka and Orissa. Even the soundtrack of the movie given by prominent music director Illaiyaraja was highly appreciated.
Ashwini Dutt, the producer of JVAS now plans a sequel to the original. A source told Sampurn Wire that the new movie would most likely star Ram Charan Teja who is well known for his role in Magadheera. The rest of the cast has not been disclosed yet. JVAS 2 has been planned to release in the year 2011. We wish the team all the best for JVAS 2.
