Shiney case: hearing adjourned till Oct 16

A day after the Bombay High Court stayed the framing of charges against Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja, Sewree fast-track court on Wednesday adjourned the hearing till October 16.

Ahuja, who was accused of raping his domestic help, had spent over three months in jail before he was granted bail by the High Court last week. On Wednedsay, the sessions court was scheduled to begin the argument on framing of charges.

The Bombay High Court had on Tuesday stayed the framing of charges against Ahuja until next week after the prosecution sought time to reply to the petition filed by the actor seeking forensic and medical reports.

Shiney was arrested on June 15 after his domestic maid lodged a complaint with Oshivara police station. Police had on August 13 filed a 109-page chargesheet against the actor accusing him of rape, wrongful confinement and intimidation.
