CHANDIGARH: Karva Chauth came as a big boon for Chandigarh's cosmetologists, as married women
made a beeline for non-surgical makeover techniques at the city's beauty centres to enhance their looks on the special occasion.
The city's beauty centres saw an unprecedented rush for botox, filler injections, skin peeling and other cosmetic makeover techniques.
A renowned plastic surgeon, V D Singh, said the clientele at his clinic went up by a whopping 100% on the Karva Chauth eve. "We get around seven clients seeking botox treatment daily. However, the number doubled in the past few days.''
V K Kapoor, a senior consultant cosmetologist at a private hospital in Mohali, said, "We were booked a week in advance for this special occasion.'' He said clients are keen on procedures like botox and thread lifting, which take about 15 minutes each. "The look lasts for six months and can cost between Rs 3,000 to 30,000 depending on the skin type.''
He said most women coming for these treatments are between 25 and 40.
