Jai ho box office collections fall short of Rs 100-cr mark, Salman Khan behind Dhoom 3

Salman Khan's latest has, however, managed to enter the elite Rs 100 club if worldwide collections are taken into account.
conntrary to all expectations, Jai Ho box office collections have not yet passed the first hurdle of Rs 100 crore mark domestically and it has been almost a week since the film hit the silver screen.
'Jai Ho' has been 'manfully' trying scale the peak achieved by Aamir Khan's history-creating Dhoom 3, which bagged in excess of Rs 530 crore, but to no avail.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh, who has been tweeting about Jai ho's day-to-day box office collections, said the movie is yet to enter the Rs 100 crore mark (domestic business), which is unlike any Salman Khan movie released in the past 3-4 years.
As of Tuesday, Jai Ho box office collections were Rs 77.48 crore nett (India biz only). The movie did a business of Rs 60.68 crore over the business followed by Rs 9.50 crore on Monday and Rs 7.30 crore on Tuesday.
“#JaiHo Wknd 60.68 cr, Mon 9.50 cr, Tue 7.30 cr. Total: ₹ 77.48 cr nett. India biz only,” Adarsh had tweeted on Wednesday.
Salman Khan's latest has, however, just managed to enter the elite Rs 100 club if worldwide collections are taken into account. As far as overseas box office collections are concerned, 'Jai Ho' box office collections till Monday had been $3.55 mn (Rs 22.36 cr).
‘Jai Ho’ collected a 'meager' Rs 17.75 crore on its opening day. Though the film's business did pick up on January 26 and collected Rs 26 crore, it was unable to sustain it the next day. Aamir Khan-starrer Dhoom 3 has the highest opening day domestic box office collections of Rs 36.22 crore.
Salman Khan, who had earlier taken the blame for the debacle of ‘Jai Ho’, took to Twitter to thank fans for their support.
But industry sources quote Jai Ho figures as 'respectable' though not 'hot', as January usually is a slow start for all businesses in overseas markets owing to the extended holiday winter break in western countries.
According to film trade analysts Komal Nehta Jai Ho has already made a profit of Rs 100 core. "For all those asking, Salman and Sohail have made Rs 100 crore profit in JAI
