In the last decade, spicy item numbers were a must have accessory for every film. And with that we saw some of our favourites perform some awe-inspiring dance moves. Let’s take a look at actresses who set screens on fire as they danced to some of Bollywood’s bets item songs.

Aishwarya Rai 

Aishwariya danced to the tunes of ‘Kajra re’ with Abhishek and Amitabh Bachchan, she put the audiences in a spell. She not only made ‘Kajra re’ number one on the charts, but also established herself as the undisputable queen of Item girls. Her trademark steps continue to be a rage until today. Midas touch? We’re thinking the same. 

Bipasha Basu 

With ‘Beedi Jalaile’, Bipasha gave Bollywood one of the best item numbers ever. She stood on a khatiya, dressed in a sexy ghagra choli and gave the kind of thumkaas that had the entire country dancing to her tunes. And literally. 

Kareena Kapoor 

Item numbers are about making the temperatures go up. But when Kareena is a part of it, trust her to add another element to it. While most actresses play sexy seductress, Kareena exploits her bubbly charm to the fullest. She accompanies her latka-jhatkas with some very coy looks and contagious smiles. All we have to say about her act is that ‘It’s rocking!’

With her sultry dance moves, Mallika added fire to ‘Guru’. When she did a Bollywood version of belly dancing in ‘Maiyya Maiyya’, she had the country raving about the way she dances. And she looked a little like an exotic Persian princess, only hotter! 

Koena Mitra 

With ‘Saaki saaki’, Koena was suddenly a national sensation. Her sexy dances moves had all the men lusting after her and all the women dying to be as hot as her. Truly a trendsetting song that was.

Priyanka Chopra 

When Piggy Chops danced to ‘Saiyaan Re’ in a sexy blue outfit, she managed to seduce not just Akshaye Khanna but all the bachelors of this country. As for the married men, they wished they were bachelors, like never before. 

Katrina Kaif 

Katrina is doing an item song for ‘Tees Maar Khan’. So it may not have hit the charts yet, but it is Katrina we’re talking about. She will supersede our expectations and give us item song that we will rave about for ages, simply because she is a part of it. Don’t we remember her ‘Zara Zara Touch Me’ act? Rekha’s beauty is one that defies age. While most actresses bid goodbye to their Bollywood careers once they’re in their late 30’s, a fifty plus Rekha charmed the audiences as she pulled off a Moulin Rouge number, ‘Kaisi Paheli Hai Yeh’ in the film ‘Parineeta’.
