Kutch (Gujarat): Megastar Amitabh Bachchan today arrived in Bhuj for shooting a promotional advertisement for the Gujarat Tourism Department.
Bachchan, who has been appointed ambassador of Gujarat Tourism, arrived in a chartered plane at the Bhuj airport.
He was received by Tourism Secretary Vipul Mitra and Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd (TCGL) Chairman Kamlesh Patel, officials said.
A huge crowd had gathered at the airport to see the 67-year-old Bollywood icon who was dressed in a white kurta-pajama.
Bachchan, after alighting from the plane, shook hands with some of the fans who had gathered to get a glimpse of the actor.
He was then taken to Kukma village, some 7km from Bhuj, where he would be resting in a farm house.
Sources in the Kutch district administration said Bachchan was likely to do a photo shoot at a hotel in Bhuj city later in the evening.
Bachchan, who is on a week-long assignment for the advertisement, is also likely to shoot in Gir forests, the abode of Asiatic lions, in Junagadh district.
